Two More Renowned University Presses Select Project MUSE as Their Journals Platform
By Project MUSE
Project MUSE is pleased to announce that, beginning in 2022, it will serve as the chief journal platform for both University of Minnesota Press and Wayne State University Press. Both of these distinguished publishers have worked with Project MUSE since the early 2000’s as part of MUSE’s Journal Collections Program. University of Minnesota Press will add five subscription journals to the MUSE Hosting Program for 2022, and Wayne State University Press will add three subscription journals to the MUSE Hosting Program for 2022, with each publisher having a total of 12 journals on offer. The new Minnesota and Wayne State journal titles, along with the volume year for which coverage on the MUSE platform will begin, are as follows:
University of Minnesota Press:
• Environment, Space, Place – Vol. 9, No. 1 Spring 2017
• Journal of American Indian Education – Vol. 50, No. 1, 2011
• Norwegian-American Studies – Vol. 1
• Preservation Education & Research – Vol. 11, 2019
• Verge: Studies in Global Asias – Vol. 1, No 1, Spring 2015
Wayne State University Press:
Journals in the MUSE hosting program are not included in the MUSE journal collections, but libraries may take up individual subscriptions to access the titles on the platform.
We are excited to expand our partnership with Project MUSE through their hosted journals program,” said Diandra Coles, Journals Manager at University of Minnesota Press. “We look forward to giving our subscribers access to this wonderful platform and helping new scholars find and engage with our content.”
Julie Warheit, Journals Manager at Wayne State University Press added, “We are delighted to broaden our relationship with Project MUSE and to join so many of our fellow university presses in making all of our journals available to subscribers on such a prestigious platform.”
With the exception of Jewish Folklore and Ethnology, which will debut in Fall 2022, content from the journals listed above, beginning with the volumes indicated above and through current issues, will be available on the MUSE platform by the beginning of 2022. Libraries wishing to subscribe or needing to renew single title subscriptions to these and the other Minnesota and Wayne State journals may do so via their usual subscription agency, or by emailing jrnlcirc@jh.edu or via our online form (requires creation of a user account). MUSE will distribute metadata for the titles to our many discovery partners, and subscribing libraries will be able to access custom holdings data and COUNTER-compliant usage statistics through the MUSE Library Dashboard. All of the journals listed except Jewish Folklore and Ethnology were previously hosted on JSTOR.
