UCLA, CMRS Center for Early Global Studies

The UCLA CMRS Center for Early Global Studies (CMRS-CEGS) promotes interdisciplinary and cross-cultural studies of the period from late antiquity to the middle of the seventeenth century. CMRS-CEGS sponsors and co-sponsors lectures, seminars, and conferences, hosts visiting professors, post-doctoral scholars, and other visiting researchers, and produces the journals Viator and Comitatus and the book series Cursor Mundi. CMRS-CEGS assists scholars, students, and the larger community to acquire a deeper understanding of issues rooted in the past that continue to resonate in our contemporary world.
